WHO DAT Fever

NEW ORLEANS (Gazette) — I am too happy going into Monday morning. Yes, I am in ecstasy. The New Orleans Saints are 3-0, baby. Next Monday on Monday Night Football, the Saints meet the Miami Dolphins who are also undefeated at 3-0. I cannot wait for the game. FIREWORKS, baby!!

Yes, this should be a nice long week of WHO DAT happiness. Next week, either the Saints or the Dolphins will be closing out Monday Night Football at 4-0. Hold onto your hats, Who Dat fans. Geaux Saints!

In other news, the U.S. Postal Service has created a stamp for icon musician Ray Charles.

Wet Weather in N’Awlins

New Orleans (Gazette) — Saturday morning is seeing it’s share of ugly weather in and around New Orleans. The exact extent of the system is listed by WWL below.

In other news, it is amazing to me how women can multi-task so well. In my experiences, I find that females have a real knack at multi-tasking. In general, men tend to do one thing at a time; and concentrate on that job in particular. Females drive me crazy when I watch them do 4 or 5 things at the same time. What a balancing act!

Man, what a beautiful horse. I had to post this.

Never Take Points Off The Board

NEW ORLEANS (Gazette) — Football Rule #1:  Never take points off the board. Once the #Saints scored the early field goal on Sunday, Coach Sean Payton should not have decided to erase the points and go for the touchdown after the penalty (especially running with Mark Ingram). Keep those 3 points on the board, and come back to fight another day. It was those 3 points which almost cost the Saints the game.  However, the #WhoDats were good enough on Sunday to overcome that early mistake.

Here below is a movie clip from TERROR NIGHTS based on my book THE TERROR SCROLLS.

Looking at the below picture might make up my mind to buy season tickets for the basketball New Orleans Pelicans.

Below is a clip of the movie Meet the Girls that I am promoting from my book Drive Women Crazy.

We Bury the Hatchet

NEW ORLEANS (Gazette) — In my blog today, I will attempt to answer my brother’s charges that I treat him badly because I graduated from Jesuit High School in New Orleans and he graduated from the nearby public high school Kennedy High.

I have more space to answer his charges on my blog. Here is Carl’s gripe.
from: Carl Delery. Re: Ferdie & his #JesuitHighNewOrleans experience.

To: Tevis (our life-long friend). There’s a fault in Ferd’s game plan, a braggadosious attitude. For some time now my big brother has found it fit to impolitely interject, with unsolicited criticismn my mastery of the English language. While I ‘playfully’ admonish his unwarranted criticism of my use of ponctuations and occasional spelling error. This so called Jesuit Boy was not taught humility along with his studies. I have taken it upon myself to give him his just accolades, while at the same time I feel compelled to throw darts at his attempt at educational superiority. This Jesuit Boy can bragg about Jesuit experience. Ask him about being first trumpet, or drowning attempts, or Lieutenant strips, etc. Please send me to Kennedy High where we were able to address the adversary and still learn, if you were so compelled. Goo Jesuit.

From: Ferdie Yes, Carl. However, I admire the many things that you have learned and are good at. You know karate. You know how to beat up and badly injure people. You know how to torture and lay heavy pain on people. You know how to break people’s necks and break bones. You know how to make people scream & holler, and run down the street in fear. You know how to choke people. Carl, these are all lovely and wonderful things to know. Don’t you know that I wish that I could do all those things instead of living my life in total fear. I wish that I could beat up people and strike fear in people like you do. I often think about moving up to New Jersey with you in order to learn from you, but I am afraid of coming back to New Orleans all bruised up with broken bones, etc.

Spell Well vs. Fight Well

a RePOST: @ Carl Delery Re: My knowing a lot of big words, and how to spell a lot of stuff. >>I wish that I knew karate and all the stuff that you know, Carl. You have the knowledge to beat me up. That is truly something to be happy about. All I can do is spell a lot of stuff, and say some big words. So what if I questioned your spelling? Who is the winner if you ever get your hands on me?
Also, in further/other news:

Note about link below: I am trying to link a post below. They make this stuff so complicated. Should be fixed soon.

Love, A Many-Splendored Thing

NEW ORLEANS (Gazette) — Recently, I experienced a fine example of male-female communications. UPDATE: There are two sides to every story. The following is only my side of the story. Someone reminded me of such. Thus, I make this note and correction here. Also, I must note here that there was a third party and witness to the following. Now to continue, on September 1, I listened to a young lady happily talk about her lovely day. I was receptive with fairly, undivided attention. Finally, God forbid, I had a single, 5-word sentence to say; and was not allowed a few seconds to say it. Then, after I kept repeating the sentence over-and-over ad nauseam to get it heard in the conversation, the young lady narrowly focused in; but misinterpreted the 5 words I was trying to say. A heated exchange ensued in which I almost accidentally drove off the side of the cliff on the highway. I am sorry, but sometimes allow me only a few seconds to say 5 words w/o talking over me. Then, I will shut up again for the next 7 hours. I had promised myself to be a good boy on Sunday, but I had only 5 words that I needed to get in edgewise; and was never given the few uninterrupted seconds I needed. This is a pet peeve of mine: at least give me ONE turn in a conversation.

P.S. There are actually no cliffs in southeastern Louisiana :). Sorry! I meant that I drove up the wrong ramp on the highway, and almost got killed. I used cliff to be brief and to emphasize the danger.

Love is a many-splendored thing.

The Cross of Jesus

NEW ORLEANS (Gazette) — Sometimes I get tired of atheists tearing down the name of the Lord. Yes, I know that our salvation is based on blind faith. Now, If a piece of Jesus’ cross was truly found recently, as archaeologists are saying, that increases my faith. Would Jesus voluntarily and willingly have gone to the cross if His message was a lie?
Archaeologists: “We found a piece of Jesus’ cross.”

Archaeologists working at an ancient church in Turkey think they’ve unearthed a piece of the world’s most famous cross, the one used to crucify Jesus.

  • Ferdie Werdie P.S. Sometimes your faith is hanging on barely by a thread. Where is God? He is so invisible! I do not hear Him talking to me. Then, at other times He is burning up right in my presence ..in my face. You have to praise the Lord daily, by the minute b/c  He exists/lives in our praises. Every day, every hour I pick up my guitar or sit by my piano and sing out #praise to the Lord until He enters my presence and talks with me.

A Favorite Vacation Locale

Yes! Fun in the sun.

Yes! Fun in the sun.

Lockheed used to fly me into FLA to Cape Kennedy to work on the Shuttle.

@Tim Daniels >>I realized today that this is my 1st time in Florida since I retired. One of my favorite things about working at Lockheed was going to Cape Kennedy. I must have been vacationing in other spots and forgot about how much I like Florida.

P.S. @Tim Daniels >>I took more pics that I want you to see. I will post more today or Saturday… There is plenty “wild game” lying out here on the beach with their “toes” all out. Some of ’em have more than just their “toes” out. haha …I won’t show you those kinds of “feet” pictures. By the way, the wildest animal out here right now is ME!!!

Now that I am a truly wholesome guy I only look at the ladies’ feet. I do not allow my eyes to travel any higher than that because …well, let’s just say that I do not want people to think that I am an animal. If my eyes do wander any higher than that in the next few days, I will try to keep my mind as pure as “the driven snow.”

Plus, by the way, Hurricane Andrea crossed Florida as I vacationed to the west. I was beaching more westerly, and did not feel any effects of the Hurricane. It was beautiful where I am.

My Dreams of #SanaaLathan

NEW ORLEANS (Gazette) — If actress Sanaa Lathan would stand straight up and walk right off of this page into my arms I would fall to pieces. Yes, I’d be all shook up. You never know when my door bell or my phone might ring. I do not say that I’d drink her bath water b/c I never could understand that. But, I’d blankity, blankity, blank her. Of course, I cannot say what I’d do to/with her because I do not kiss-and-tell. ONE DAY!! Yes, one day I might get that call or that knock at the door. Don’t they always tell you to DREAM BIG?
