GAZETTE (Aug. 19, 2026) — People often ask me, “Ferdie, what do you dream about? What comes up mostly in your dreams”? I tell them that often I dream about loved ones and relatives who have passed away. I often have vivid dreams where loved ones visit me in my dreams, and we have in-depth long conversations. I also have many, vivid, lively dreams about fine, lovely young ladies; some of whom I do not even know. I wake up truly feeling like I had just spent time with these ladies. I have even subsequently met some of these dream girls in real life. Unbelievable! They often look just like from my dreams. In fact, beginning over 30 years ago I used to dream about the very house that I live in now. I wrote a book in 2002 I HAVE A DREAM about living in this exact house. Who would have even imagined back then that I would now be living in this house. Out of the blue, I was offered to buy this house in 2007. It was my grandmother’s house.
I told y’all that my house is haunted. I am trying my best to move out very quickly before I meet my end in here. That is the last thing that I want. God is dealing with me b/c I have played around with hypnotism, Cosmic visions, Zen meditation, spiritual levitations (and such) since I was a teenager. Some churches forbid playing around with such things. I want to move out of my house very quickly, and then possibly turn the house into a haunted museum based on my books by Ferdinand J. Delery.
Studying Psych 101 at the University @N.O. got me interested in hypnosis. I bought some books on hypnosis, leading me to trying self hypnosis, Zen Meditation, Cosmic readings and Fast-Burst readings from the Universe. I tried my “readings” on maybe 2 or 3 friends. I hypnotized several young ladies when I was young, without them knowing it. It did not stick too long 🙂. I used hypnotism in my comedy act on stage, hypnotizing whole audiences. None of my daughters or grandchildren out of fear come inside my scary house anymore as of recently. What did I “do” to my house? I messed up something inside my house, which I wrote about in my books.

Also, many people give parties on Mardi Gras Day with plenty of good food, drinks, etc. They prefer to stay off the streets and enjoy their festivities at home. I used to enjoy the French Quarters and the many parade routes. Now-a-days, I watch the festivities on TV in my haunted house.

Y’all often hear me talk about the movie BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1935) which I like. In 2026, Maggie Gyllenhaal produced THE BRIDE with Jessie Buckley as the bride of Frankenstein. The 2026 movie lost a lot of money, and is a hodgepodge of a plot. However, I am in wuv with both actresses (1935 and 2026). Just call me Frankenstein, I guess 🙂.
I have started enjoying the later version, THE BRIDE, a little more each time I watch it. I have not watched it straight through yet; I watch it in pieces. It does not flow too well, in my opinion. I like the 1935 version more. Just think, the original movie premiered almost 100 years ago.
Released in March 2026 to mixed reviews and modest box office, THE BRIDE explores themes of creation, rebellion, and outcast romance through Buckley’s dual performance as the author Mary Shelley and the bride. I plan to soon watch the film from start to finish since, so far, I have only watched it piecemeal catching it mostly on cable already in progress.
New Orleans (2026) — Life is a mystery! Picture the fear of waking up on Mardi Gras Day in New Orleans and finding no one around. NO ONE!! Did I wake up dead? No! I am referring to the opening scenes of my book. Those words above are not a real-life scenario.
I am explaining here why I took on the cloak of the Big Bad Wolf after I wrote my book. It is now a tradition of mine to mask as the Big Bad Wolf on costume holidays. This tradition began after I wrote about “a monster” (da monster) in my book, I HAVE A DREAM!
The issue is: how would my protagonist look? This question was in my mind ever since I wrote the first words in scene one. That is why he/it lives in my mind every second of my life. I mask as a Big Bad Hound, but my protagonist is not a werewolf. He is human.
I have an agent (or two) right now hounding me every day to move forward, go to this book festival or that, do this, do that. There is a big book festival coming in CALI (largest in the country) with many movie people in attendance. My agent is pushing on me right now to attend and present my story. Who could play the monster part? I have to present my book, my vision to the powers that be.
How does da monster look? Who could play the part? Who could embody the role? That is why I daily live cloaked as da hound, and mask as him on holidays. I am developing in my mind who to put on the screen. Come to think of it, I need to call my agent/agents soon to give them my vision of the star. I never did say da monster’s real name even in the book.

I have told relatives that I have at times awaken at home with the ghost of my daddy sitting on the edge of my bed… my grandpa Cates too. I just said, “Hey,”… then they left.

After Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras Day, many Christians turn away from the celebrations and begin a period of sacrifice and fasting in preparation for Easter Sunday and the Resurrection of Jesus from the grave. Mardi Gras represents our last fling before turning to 40 days of worship.
Then, I heard God say, “Ferdie, you are blessed.” Climbing more deeply (even deeper), I discerned this: “the Lord will place at your feet (along your journey) assets which he will use to reveal himself to you.”

I said that I wrote about some of my psycho studies in my book. P.S. I subsequently wrote some detective action into my follow-up book to this story. I called my next book THE TERROR SCROLLS in which a fine detective story is intertwined. Also, I have been reading through my book to see if some of my Zen-hypnotic interludes make a connection with the current scene.
Is Little Red Riding Hood the only damsel whom the BIG BAD WOLF stumbles upon? I do not know if there is more to the old fairytale than we know or not. Well, I added more to the tale in my book, I HAVE A DREAM. Some people thought that my story was about me and a true story. That is why I like to mask every Halloween as the BIG BAD WOLF.

While I was meditating in my Zen hypnotic state, I saw these words: “The Lord of Hosts/Armies is your hammer and weapon of war. With Him you will break nations into pieces; you will destroy kingdoms. He is Sovereign over all armies.”
The name “Lord of Hosts” (the Lord of Armies) defines God’s power, authority and role as the ultimate commander of all of the armies of heaven, earth and all creation. Abba, Our Father, is always “the hammer of war” for us believers. The Lord of Armies is not blind to the oppression that we are facing or to the injustices being committed by our oppressors. He will shatter and bring turmoil to our oppressors.
Back in 1858 in France
In 1858 in France, Our Lady of Lourdes said to St. Bernadette, “You will pray to God for sinners and Penance.” Our Lady of Lourdes told St. Bernadette to pray for sinners and Penance for a change of heart of our oppressors. Our Lady saw how badly the Lord of Armies will shatter and bring turmoil to our oppressors.
Meanwhile, the situation in Trump world is fluid presently. Meaning that the jury is still out on his many immoral, illegal and unconstitutional acts. Looks like he stepped back from the brink in Iran. There are still many problems which I will study and report back to you about.

We can see the kind of man Donald Trump is by how he treats the children caught up in his deportation raids. People in California started protesting Trump’s immoral and Constitutionally illegal raids. So, Trump’s answer is to send in thousands of National Guard troops and Marines. Oh, my God! From my Psych 101 classes in college, the chapters on hypnotism piqued my interest in reading books about hypnotism and such. Studying what I read led me to try hypnosis, yoga meditation and eventually stuff like Zen and Eastern Meditation. The primary practice in Zen (mainly in China and Japan) is zazen, a form of seated meditation aimed at achieving a state of focused awareness and insight.
Eastern meditation, like in India for example, aims to detach the mind from the physical world to achieve a state of peace, enlightenment, or self-realization. It focuses on calming the mind, cultivating mindfulness, and potentially connecting with a divine or cosmic reality.
Using self-hypnosis/meditation(zazen) I one day reached a “portal” to the Cosmos where I saw what scientists call Fast-Burst radio waves from the Universe.
I shared information in a media comment where a contributor wrote how he reached what I call “the portal” in my sessions. I am not officially trained in meditation or hypnosis, but I have bought and read books about the 2 or 3 chapters that we studied in college Psych 101. So, I “experiment” with what others have learned with training. Similarly to how the person described above, I have meditated/hypnotized myself to receive what scientists call Fast-Burst radio waves from the Universe. My mind, however, is easily distracted. So, I play music sometimes (my trumpet or piano) to help me because some scientists call the radio waves of Cosmic readings “The Music of The Cosmos” or “The Music of The Heavens.”

Anyway, I walked outside my house that night and saw this big, ol’ full moon in the sky. That is “amore.” Now, I can go back inside my house after that sign and wait on the Lord to come my way. ❤️❤️❤️ That big, beautiful full-moon in the sky inspired many memories in my mind.

Where was I, the penultimate Cariɓbean Pirate, on Memorial weekend?
I sat down to write about my Memorial Weekend holiday when other stuff came to mind. I have been reading the book Captain Blood upon which the movie with Errol Flynn was based. I ordered the book on KINDLE, but think that I need to buy the hard copy for some studious reading of it. I claim Caribbean Pirate roots; so, the story in the book has been fun for me. I once ordered my DNA results from MY HERITAGE, and found definitive roots from pirates all the way from Ireland through Spain and France, Italy through Tunisia to the Caribbean Sea and the High Seas.
I bought the book, and I’m reading it on Kindle.

Recently, I saw a program on PBS TV about the National Shrine of Our Lady of Prompt Succor in New Orleans on State Street. Many miracles are credited to Our Lady of Prompt Succor. Can Mary hear our prayers? The lady in the video gives the pertinent scriptures. Also by the way, The Shrine of Our Lady of Perpetual Help (another holy place testifying to miracles) is in Haiti.

In the NFL, there are 2 famous Hail Mary plays which led to victories. There was Roger Staubach’s Hail Mary pass to win the playoffs, and there was the Immaculate Reception that Franco Harris caught for a playoff victory while his mother played her Ave Maria record at home. Now, there is my Hail Mary prayer that led to a miracle answer. I will expound upon this on tomorrow or another day. In 1917, Holy Mary appeared to three children in Fatima, Portugal, to tell them to pray for world peace and for the conversion of sinners.
GAZETTE (October 28, 2024) — I am praying for a smooth and peaceful Presidential election on November 5. America does not need another insurrection like in 2020, lasting until even now. The election-steal insurrection and lies are a stain upon the legacy of America. Plus, it is criminal.

In the picture below, I am saying a Hail Mary (Marie in French) for intercessory prayer, including: intercessory prayers for me of praise and thanksgiving. “I thank you, Abba Father. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are your works; and of that, my soul knows full well.” I am reminded of when quarterback Roger Staubach prayed a Hail Mary for what became known as the famous Hail Mary pass to defeat Minnesota with a long bomb in the last minutes of their playoff game in the ’70’s.

Mary is Marie in French! In France, Marie is derived from the Latin Maria (Stella Maris) which means “star of the sea.” However, of course, it is also the biblical name Mary because it is the French version of the name Mary and Maria, the holy virgin mother of Jesus.
GAZETTE (Sept. 13) – I wanted to say that I am studying the verse from the Scriptures that led me to say that I walk today by faith and not by sight. I am considering that this might be my New Year’s resolution for 2024: to walk by faith and not by sight all of this year. That is why I am studying this verse in order to draw up my blueprint on how to do this. I will say more later on, and take you on a visit down this rabbit hole with me. Why did I say this, and why am I studying this verse from 2 Corinth. 5:7?

The Assumption of Mary is the belief that the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, was taken into heaven at the end of her life, body and soul. This is the glorious fruition which began when the Lord sent the Archangel Gabriel to appear to Mary when she was a teenager.
When the Archangel Gabriel was sent to Mary by the Father, he greeted her, “Hail Mary, full of grace; the Lord is with you” (Luke 1:28). Then, when Mary visited her cousin Elizabeth who was already pregnant with John the Baptist, John lept with joy inside of Elizabeth’s womb at the approach of Jesus inside of Mary. Elizabeth exclaimed, “Of all women you are the most blessed, and blessed is the fruit of your womb” (Luke 1:41-42).
The angel had said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And now, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give to him the throne of his ancestor David. He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.” Luke 1:30-33
The Church affirmed the divinity of Jesus.
The Council of Ephesus, the 3rd Ecumenical Council, confirmed that the Virgin Mary was not just Christ-bearer as Nestorius, Patriarch of Constantinople, declared, but also God-bearer because Jesus was God and Christ. Thus, the council added the third sentence and created the Hail Mary prayer.
The Hail Mary Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
To this day, followers of Nestorius’ declaration and many Protestants dishonor Mary and the divinity of Jesus by refusing to accept the Hail Mary prayer when prayed by such “God-bearer” believers even though the mouths of the Archangel and cousin Elizabeth declared these very words in the Holy Scriptures.

I will cook a batch of my cajun boudin soon, and post a picture of a new addition to my recipe. Of course, I might also write a more in-depth recipe for y’all exposing some of my secret ingredients.

The Baton Rouge Advocate bought the New Orleans Times-Picayune and now we get LSU on the front page of the sports every day, and relegate Saints, Pels, Tulane to page four or further back in the newspaper. UPDATE: Word must have reached the Advocate because the newspaper has recently been fairer in its placement of stories about SAINTS, Pelicans, Tulane, etc.

by FERDIE (July 4) — My stand-up comedy and music career might be over. The Corona virus shut the doors of the coffee house at which I performed for a number of years. When it opened back up (they and Algiers Point Bar where I did some open mic nights) contacted me often to come back and perform. I was not ready to go into Corona crowds yet. They eventually stopped calling. I might start back, but I still avoid Corona crowds.

I wondered for a long time why Democrats opened up their primary season with Iowa and New Hampshire. Those two states give a tainted vision of what the Democratic electorare wants.
