Saints’ #WhoDAT Purgatory

NEW ORLEANS (by Ferdie Werdie) — I have doubted the New Orleans Saints for many weeks now; and predicted 8 straight losses. However, #Purgatory? Do I deserve #Saints Purgatory? That is what Who Dats are saying. I guess what goes around, comes around. I am now on “bended knee,” reciting the Catholic “Mea Culpa” prayer of penance. Yes, it is MY FAULT. I confess that I doubted the Saints. Through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault! However, I am wearing my black-and-gold pajamas right now; and I promise to wear them every night this week.

My sentence: A Who Dat named Joan told me, “Not so fast!!! The gates are closed to you!!! To gain entry you must 1st go to purgatory & remain there until you are deemed worthy to again be counted in that #! The SAINTS don’t like DAT!”

Louisiana Seafood Festival

NEW ORLEANS (Gazette) — This weekend, 4 of my granddaughters (true cajun-dining experts already), myself and their moms enjoyed the Louisiana Seafood Festival. We ate bbq shrimp, stuffed oysters, alligator, shrimp/grits, charbroiled oysters, and more. My son in-law and 2 grandsons kept busy with skating, bicycling and other physical activities.

My Review of GONE GIRL

NEW ORLEANS (Gazette) — I have begun writing my review of the movie GONE GIRL. If anyone does not understand the ending, just ask me and I will tell you what happened. Actually, I see “sequel” written all over this movie.

I tend to prefer watching movies at home because you can regulate the noise, the crowd, the temperature, the food… and, so much more. On the other hand, I also enjoy going out for the big screen, the IMAX, the 3-D, all of that. However, yesterday, a lady walked into the theater with a big bag of fried chicken, potato salad, potato chips, canned drinks, aluminum foil, paper grocery bags, the whole works; and sat directly behind me. I flipped my lid because I could not hear the movie with all of the noise behind me. Eventually, I got up and moved to another seat. I lost my trend of thought in the movie for a moment; but once I got to a quiet location, I got my head back into the movie.

Press Conference by Ferdie Werdie

Here is a press conference from this morning in which I disseminated some vital information which I know about the NFL.

Further info may come later. UPDATE: It may be a “minute” before I can write any more information related to the press conference. Presently, I am busy trying to eat and relax. Anyone who knows me well, knows that once I finish a meal I usually lie down and sleep for a while. Who knows when I will wake up? Plus, this evening I want to watch the National League Wild Card (1-game World Series playoff) between San Francisco and Pittsburgh. So, I know that y’all can see that once I start my siesta, I might be out of commission for a “minute.”

Happy Birthday, Halfa’ Pint

NEW ORLEANS (Gazette) — We sang Happy Birthday to my granddaughter, Halfa’ Pint, this weekend. We celebrated with gumbo, potato salad, crawfish pie, butter pecan cake, ice cream. Plus, on Saturday, all of the kids enjoyed Laser Tag Quest. I will post more pictures later.

We know that she had a great weekend.

Robin Williams by Ferdie Werdie

NEW ORLEANS (Gazette) — I send out my thoughts for the late Robin Williams. I am listening to many words of love from celebrities and loved ones on the TV and on the Internet.

Billy Crystal’s tweet below said it all. Billy, Robin and Whoopi were a great comedic trio. They were all good friends.

In other news, all of a sudden I want to go into the jungle. SOON!!! If this is what you find lying around in the jungle, count me in.

Chiquita Bananas in Big Easy

NEW ORLEANS (Gazette) — Chiquita Bananas International will once again make its home and base of operations in New Orleans, Louisiana. I am wondering who will be the new Chiquita Banana Lady now that the company is back in the Big Easy! We will see.

“Welcome back, Chiquita Bananas,” she too says below. Louisiana officials announced this week that hundreds of jobs will come back to New Orleans with Chiquita operations moving back: http://goo.gl/aIkJ6E …Dumb-ass Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal already said that he plans to tax citizens of the state $15.5 million to help offset the company’s costs. “What do you think about that, Ferdie Werdie”? asks this lovely young lady.

In the NBA playoffs, these long 7-game series’ in rounds 1 and 2 only tend to kill the fans; but it is also only all about the money for the teams. I guess the fans have to pay the price. One-game eliminations is very exciting in the March Madness Final Four NCAA tournament (also in the pro football NFL). However, in the NBA, you do not want a one-game fluke to determine who moves on to the next round.

I just think that it is too obtrusive to spend a whole month on just the first and second rounds. A 5-game series in each of rounds 1 and 2 will sure determine accurately who should move on to round three and the NBA final four. However, like I said, more games mean more money for the NBA and the teams. Thus, we fans just HAD to suffer through this whole month in order to determine the outcome that everyone and his mama knew was going to happen. It is now Spurs vs. OKC; Indiana vs. Miami.

Also, I am working on an article explaining more about my thoughts of the news that MBA degrees have climbed to the top of the list of college degrees. The MBA degree has now become the most popular college degree in America.

Meanwhile, many fans watched with interest as quarterback sensation Johnny Manziel sat through 21 selections of the NFL draft before he was picked by the Cleveland Browns. Is this a good pick? Is he happy?

What in the heck is on my mind this afternoon? Well, take a look at the picture below. Once I wrap up with a few things at the house, I plan to go to Harrah’s Casino in order to check out my luck. I will let y’all know how I make out. Firsly, I might strew myself across the bed for wink or two if I can possibly squeeze in some kind of way.

UPDATE: No, I did not win at the casino. Now, I also have to check to see what will be Jennifer Lawrence’s next movie. I enjoy her work very mych.

Piers Morgan and Gun Control

NEW ORLEANS (Gazette) — As the editor of the Delery Gazette I originate and write my stories at FerdieWerdie.com I am thinking every day about stories that my readers will find interesting. I added a box below in which you can tell me what you’d like for me to write about next.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is turning 30 years-old soon; and he is deciding on changes with Facebook that will also show growth similar to his maturity.

Thank you for your response. ✨

I agree with former CNN host Piers Morgan that America needs stricter gun control laws. I will give more of my view after the playoff game is over.

ferdieWerdie's avatarFerdieWerdie

I will have more to say about this when I get back home. Presently, I am starving; and my stomach is growling. Anyway, Piers Morgan basically lost his job at CNN-News Channel for fighting for gun-control laws in America (and subsequent low ratings). Every week we see mass murders happening across the landscape of America. Is Pier Morgan correct?

UPDATE: I am back home now, but I cannot break away from the TV. The news that Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling has been banned from the NBA for life is on most news channels. I cannot get enough news about this story. I am surprised at how the audio recordings of Sterling’s ugly statements have so swiftly brought him down. It is an amazing story to me.

I will say more about the gun control story on tomorrow. Here is some reaction to Piers Morgan’s tweet regarding another…
