Ferdie Werdie in Deja Vu

GAZETTE (Sept. 22, 2025) — In 2006 (post Hurricane Katrina) I was an extra in the movie Deja Vu which was filmed in New Orleans. I recently saw the movie on cable while flipping through channels and caught my main scene. I was reminded of when I first saw actress Paula Patton on the set and we laid eyes on each other. It was my first time ever seeing Paula. I have been a fan ever since. I truly got such a big kick this week upon flipping to the channel right before my big scene came up.

I cannot wait for lovely Paula’s next movie to come out. Also on my mind (in other news) is now, with Carolina meeting Denver in the Super Bowl in February, 2016, I want to update my article on the playoffs.

Over the weekend, I somewhat accidentally caught my first Mardi Gras boat parade on Lake Pontchartrain in New Orleans. The parade was lovely and I had an excellent time. The parade was by the Krewe of Bilge.

I also love my University of New Orleans. When will the state and the LSU Board stop treating the University of New Orleans like a stepchild. We were supposed to have our Division 1 football team by now, but Gov. Bobby Jindal and the LSU Board killed the funding. I am ‪#‎mad‬. Can the team plans be resurrected now that we have a new governor with vision and are now governed by a new/different board, the University of Louisiana System?

I was working for the Shuttle program when the Columbia accident happened. I will never forget the shock at watching from the NASA plant at work the Shuttle go down.

NEW ORLEANS (Gazette) — #Doctors say that men over 40 who look at fine, bosomy #women for 10 minutes a day will lengthen their lives. One of the women whom I like to look at is former #1 Charlie Sheen goddess, Bree Olson. Plus, I now learn that this activity is good for my health. I also watch Let’s Make A Deal almost every day in order to view and dream about lovely model and presenter Tiffany Coyne. Everybody wonders why my health is so fantastic and how I look so good.

The German study, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, concludes that staring at fine women for a few minutes daily is better for your health than going to the gym.

“Just 10 minutes of looking at the charms of well-endowed females is equivalent to a 30-minute aerobics work-out,” said author Dr Karen Weatherby, an expert on aging.

The research team, led by Dr Weatherby, spent five years monitoring the effects of this unique discovery.

The men who were told to stare at bosoms daily had lower blood pressure and slower resting pulse rates and also decreased their risk of coronary artery disease.

Dr Weatherby explained: “Sexual excitement gets the heart pumping and improves blood circulation.

Speaking of bananas and tropical stuff… it is Mardi Gras time in New Orleans. Pictured below is the queen of one of the parades and clubs.

Another actress who is very lovely and gets your blood to flowing is Scarlett Johansson.

Ferdie is on Hunger Strike

I announced on July 27th that I was already 24 hours into my Hunger Strike against Hate. Today I am ‪#‎124hours‬ into my hunger strike now, as of this writing. It got too hard for me to watch many more of these killing videos of unarmed black people by authorities and haters. I cannot stand much more. The American justice system is mucho to blame because most/all of these murderers are going unpunished. The campus security guard in Ohio made bail and is walking the streets. Dang! He shot the unarmed black guy’s face off over the victim not have his driver’s license on him. My opinion: if you murder somebody, you get executed… ‪#‎PERIOD‬! No matter who you are. In the past, executions used to scare many potential murderers from killing. The murder rate used to be much lower. I am striking here versus police and haters killing black people… also vs. mass-murderers, whom it takes years to execute, if ever. The KKK and other hate groups are raising money to defend the murderer who killed 9 black people at the church. Why is that #hater still breathing?

UPDATE on my ‪#‎HungerStrike‬ vs. ‪#‎Hate‬. I see a chink in the glass. ‪#‎TheLord‬ has spoken to me. Yes, I Have an update. UPDATE: The Lord has spoken to me. Don’t you think the ‪#‎Lord‬ would visit me with me ‪#‎fasting‬ as long as I have? ‪#‎ComeOn‬, think about it! Jesus fasted in the desert for 3 days and 3 nights, and He sure drew some temptations and spiritual revelations upon himself. Satan, the devil, that sneaky snake himself slivered upon the scene. Didn’t Jesus crush his head with his heal? I plan to sit down between today and tomorrow to write down what the Lord said to me during my hunger strike.

S. Carolina’s Confederate Flag

How long will S. Carolina take to remove that dang, infernal treasonous flag? Alabama removed theirs instantly. Because of #SouthCarolina’s rebel flag I stopped #coldturkey going to the New Orleans Jazz Fest years ago. A large group of revelers from South Carolina were waving a very large confederate flag inside the gate at the #JazzFest. I turned right around and asked for a refund of my ticket. I asked to see the manager. The #2 man at the Jazz Fest himself refused to return my money. I have never, ever spent another penny on a New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. PERIOD!!

Did a lady really climb up the flagpole to remove the Carolina flag? Is the below tweet real? UPDATE: Yes this is real. A black female climbed the pole in S. Carolina on Saturday morning, June27, and removed the flag. Once she climbed back to the ground, she was arrested and the flag was run back up. Oh, Carolina, you are wrong for this!!

Where is the Wrath of God?

Where is the wrath of God? Where is the swift justice? There is no such thing any longer in America. After the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, how many and how swiftly were the perpetrators hanged? Very, very swiftly and all of them were executed. This boy, Dylann Roof, assassinated a State Senator and 9 other black people and is still breathing good air. Will the South Carolina justice system provide swift retribution for the Church victims and for the country? I do not think so at all. This boy will most likely still be breathing and spouting hatred and execrations 50 years from now.

I Sang at the Beach Club

NEW ORLEANS (Gazette) — Over the weekend, I sang a little bit background while my brother-in-law’s band played at the Bottom Line Beach Club outside of New Orleans. The clip below is blurry, but you can hear my voice in the background singing #CAROLYN near the end of the video in dedication to my aunt and uncle.

With all of the tragic news that we heard from around the world this weekend, I was happy to see the picture of this lovely runway model below. So, there is something fine going on today.

You might just laugh at Nicolle Kidman’s below video. While guesting on the Jimmy Fallon Show, Nicole Kidman said that her worst date ever was a date with Jimmy Fallon years ago. Kidman’s story totally embarrassed Fallon.

Also, it took a minute for me to see what was funny about the tweetpic below. However, once I realized that is a real boy who climbed into the freezer I had a good laugh.

My Aunt Berenice Delery

NEW ORLEANS (Delery Gazette) — From an article entitled CREOLE BEAUTIES OF THE 1940S & 1950S at the CreoleGen website a family friend found this picture and story about my Aunt Berenice Delery Moret, my dad’s sister. The picture and story are amazing to me. I sure would like to share it here with my readers.

The CREOLEGEN story said:
Pretty Berenice Delery was pictured in the Xavier Herald of December 1945 when she was a sophomore in the College of Liberal Arts. As a native New Orleanian, she lived at 1906 Annette Street with her parents, Ferdinand Delery, Sr., Beatrice Patterson Delery and several siblings. While at Xavier, she was an active member of the Sodality of Our Lady and one of the ranking students of her class. She married Mr. William Rouege. After his death, she became the wife of Mr. Calvin Moret of New Orleans.

NEW ORLEANS (by Ferdie Werdie) — What? Do you remember this picture from our past? Jayne Mansfield used to dress provocatively publicly in order to attrack attention from the media. I would say that her tactics worked just fine and dandy here. Sophia Loren was having a quiet, pleasant dinner until Mansfield “attacked” her table.

This is the full picture of the incident. Jayne Mansfield did not exactly dress in a child-friendly manner in public. My warning would be to put all women and children to bed (well, at least all children) once Mansfield entered the vicinity.

Saints’ #WhoDAT Purgatory

NEW ORLEANS (by Ferdie Werdie) — I have doubted the New Orleans Saints for many weeks now; and predicted 8 straight losses. However, #Purgatory? Do I deserve #Saints Purgatory? That is what Who Dats are saying. I guess what goes around, comes around. I am now on “bended knee,” reciting the Catholic “Mea Culpa” prayer of penance. Yes, it is MY FAULT. I confess that I doubted the Saints. Through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault! However, I am wearing my black-and-gold pajamas right now; and I promise to wear them every night this week.

My sentence: A Who Dat named Joan told me, “Not so fast!!! The gates are closed to you!!! To gain entry you must 1st go to purgatory & remain there until you are deemed worthy to again be counted in that #! The SAINTS don’t like DAT!”

My Review of GONE GIRL

NEW ORLEANS (Gazette) — I have begun writing my review of the movie GONE GIRL. If anyone does not understand the ending, just ask me and I will tell you what happened. Actually, I see “sequel” written all over this movie.

I tend to prefer watching movies at home because you can regulate the noise, the crowd, the temperature, the food… and, so much more. On the other hand, I also enjoy going out for the big screen, the IMAX, the 3-D, all of that. However, yesterday, a lady walked into the theater with a big bag of fried chicken, potato salad, potato chips, canned drinks, aluminum foil, paper grocery bags, the whole works; and sat directly behind me. I flipped my lid because I could not hear the movie with all of the noise behind me. Eventually, I got up and moved to another seat. I lost my trend of thought in the movie for a moment; but once I got to a quiet location, I got my head back into the movie.
